Measurements and installation

Measuring for Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper Murals

  1. Identify the Wall: Choose the wall where you want to install the mural.
  2. Measure the Width: Using a measuring tape, measure the width of the wall from one corner to the other at the widest point.
  3. Measure the Height: Measure the height of the wall from the floor to the ceiling.
  4. Account for Extra Space: Add a few extra inches to both measurements for leeway – about 2-3 inches should suffice. This helps in aligning the wallpaper and trimming the excess.
  5. Calculate the Area: Multiply the width by the height to get the total area. This tells you how much wallpaper you'll need.
  6. Note Features: Make a note of any features like windows, doors, or outlets, as these may require special consideration during installation.

Installing Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper Murals

  1. Tools Needed: Measuring tape, scissors or a sharp utility knife, a squeegee or a smoothing tool, and a ladder if necessary.
  2. Prepare the Wall: Ensure the wall is clean, dry, and smooth. Remove any dirt or grease with a mild detergent and let it dry.
  3. Plan the Layout: If your mural consists of multiple panels, lay them on the floor to understand the sequence.
  4. Peel and Stick: Start from the top corner of the wall. Peel back the top portion of the backing paper and carefully align the wallpaper to the wall.
  5. Smooth It Out: As you stick the wallpaper, use a squeegee or smoothing tool to push out any air bubbles. Work from the center outwards.
  6. Align Additional Panels: If your mural has multiple panels, align the next panel to the edge of the first, ensuring the pattern matches. Repeat the peel and stick process.
  7. Trim the Excess: Once all panels are applied, use a sharp utility knife to trim any excess wallpaper along the edges of the wall.
  8. Inspect and Adjust: Step back and inspect your work. Gently peel back and reapply any areas that aren't perfectly aligned or have air bubbles.
  9. Final Touch: Use a soft cloth to gently wipe over the mural to ensure it's fully adhered and to remove any marks or fingerprints.
